Every five-year-old enters school eager and ready to learn.
Made all the more possible by Pre-K education for every child whose family desires it.
I agree with you both. Stepping outside of the ‘four walls’ of a classroom alone can ramp up the learning experience. Tedious activity dulls the mind after so long! Exactly right Ryan! Classroom Without Walls is an excellent program that has been making education not only fun, but keeping in mind the standards if not more!
I agree with you Rye, the excitment of school wears off after teaching the standards becomes the primary focus. I think if by still teaching the standards but keeping in mind many methods of learning you can maintain that enthusiasm. Class Room without Walls kept learning exciting by taking children out to the sidewalk and used sidewalk chalk to do long division.
Many kids are excited about learning before they go to school because they have fun toys to help them learn. However, when they get to school they lose their enthusiasm. We need to find ways to keep this enthusiasm by using creative approaches to keep school from being boring. What kinds of creative approaches could be used?
